After talking about it for months, I finally got myself back into the printmaking workshop and have been playing around with dry point again.

This is one of the first prints I created using a section of my Wild Woman painting, and is the one I think best represents the kind of feel I am after with this medium... Though I still have a lot of experimenting to do.

I might put some of the other results in scraps later.

This is roughly 18x14 inches.

I believe that this is called monoprint because you have combined dry point( lines and crosshatch) with monotype ( a unique print ) into a work that has the same base, which is your dry point drawing, but which you can vary by the use of monotype. Besides tedious classification it looks very well!

It's a dry point print, the effect was gained by selectively wiping ink from certain areas of the plate with newsprint, and leaving it on others.
